Lettuces, that is. finally time to harvest the more unusual varieties. It will be interesting to taste these! How amazing do these look?
First, though, it’s time for sugar snap peas with a tiny side of cilantro!
This is all of the sugar snaps from three plants. They are super sweet and amazing! I ate some right off the vines. Remains of the plants go to Kirsten’s goats for a snack. Spinach is also harvested and in the fresh container as is the mache – nice and nutty. Next up – romaine.
Next the Butter Gem lettuce.. very bitter as it turns out. Interesting in a salad.
Then the Miner’s lettuce:
Really interesting and green tasting. Perhaps a bit like watercress. These were all grown from seeds from GrowJourney.com (note, I am not paid for links, I just love their service and want everyone to know about it!). We’re going to have some amazing salads!
Now that I’ve got some open squares, I’ll have to fill them. Stay tuned!
