Finally, we’re ready for summer gardening! Tomato and pepper starts in and seeds planted.
First, we had to seriously fill up the beds. Went with a mix of Black Cow, Earthworm Castings, Atlas Organics Compost and Charlies Chicken Compost. Now that the beds are ready, on to planting!
I went ahead and just put the popper supports in now so that they’ll be ready when its time! This year, we’re heavy on tomatoes and peppers. I’m hoping to get a great crop of “false” peppers this year. We’ve got Aji Dolce and Habanadas (low-heat habaneros) and Fooled You low-heat jalapenos. Also went with Sweet Sunsets this year as last year’s batch was super-spicy. We’ll see how they do!
On the tomato front, we’ve got year over year favorite Hillbilly, along with Berkeley Tie Dye and some new varieties. We’re trying Heatwave, Juliette Grapes, and Blue and Cream Cherries.
You can see we bought some starts from Country Boys and Bioway Farm and planted a few from seed. Stay tuned for updates!
