Well, this is crazy! We’ve turned the clocks back, a sure harbinger of cold days and late autumn garden chores, but not in our garden…
NO! We’ve got peppers and eggplants a-plenty still ripening. This is the harvest on Sunday with a plant FULL of Aji Dolce peppers still ripening! With temps forecast in the 30s this next weekend, I have to think this will be the end, right…. right?
In other pepper news, the Habanado plant that I diligently watered all summer with no growth decided to grow like crazy and set fruit two weeks ago. We replanted into a pot that is now being rolled in and out of the garage. Come on Habanado peppers – let’s set a crop into December!
Also in a probably futile hope, a Hillbilly tomato seeded and sprouted in the garden, so we went ahead and repotted that one as well and are moving it in and out with the pepper. I’d like to take them inside, but finding a sunny space for them where they won’t get torn up by the resident kitties is a problem.
Stay tuned!
