Adventures in Square Foot Gardening
Spring-like weather is helping the sprouts spring up! Arugula, mustards, radishes, spinach all coming up in nice, neat rows. Have to love that square foot garden planning!
It’s been two weeks since planting the spring greens and almost everything is growing….
Spring is in the midst of springing, so time to plant the winter greens! Doesn’t this look pretty?
It took a bit of work to get here though…….
First snow of the season today. The garden is buried, with only the rosemary still visible. I’d guess this is in the 3″-4″ range.

Well, it’s a beautiful day for gardening – 75 degrees and a sunny blue sky. Only problem is that it is the day after Christmas! Take a look at these
Yep – that’s the kale that I planted two weeks ago sprouting right up!…
So, it was 70 degrees yesterday and is the same today and tomorrow, with evening lows only in the 60s. It surely doesn’t seem like it is 10 days to Christmas! So, in the spirit of experimentation, and since I have a whole lot of open squares in the garden, I’m trying some winter gardening. (Thanks to FoxCarolina for the forecast image!)
